The plant is owned by Gaya Dunia Sdn Bhd and is currently operational, feeding clean electricity into the national grid. Malaysia's renewable energy landscape is shaped by the Large Scale Solar (LSS) programme, which aims to increase solar capacity as part of the country's target to achieve 31% renewable energy by 2025 and 40% by 2035. The plant operates under a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), the national utility, which guarantees grid access and revenue stability.
