Alfta ARV - Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant in Runemo, Sweden

Alfta ARV is an advanced wastewater treatment plant located in Runemo, within the Ovanåker municipality of Gävleborg County, Sweden. The facility serves a population of approximately 1,748 residents and has a designed capacity of 5,357 m³ per day, with a reported discharge volume of 274.4 m³ per day. As an advanced treatment plant, Alfta ARV goes beyond secondary treatment to remove nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus, which is typical for Swedish plants discharging into sensitive inland waters.
